2022-09-19platform/x86/amd: pmc: Add sysfs files for SMUMario Limonciello
The CPU/APU SMU FW version and program is currently discoverable by turning on dynamic debugging or examining debugfs for the amdgpu driver. To make this more discoverable, create a dedicated sysfs file for it that userspace can parse without debugging enabled. Userspace may want to manually control when the data should go into WriteBooster buffer. The control happens via "wb_on" node, but presently, there is no simple way to check if WriteBooster is supported and enabled. Expose the Write Booster and Clock Scaling capabilities to be able to determine if the Write Booster is available and if its manual control is blocked by Clock Scaling mechanism. 2022-08-24platform/chrome: cros_ec: Expose suspend_timeout_ms in debugfsEvan Green
In modern Chromebooks, the embedded controller has a mechanism where it will watch a hardware-controlled line that toggles in suspend, and wake the system up if an expected sleep transition didn't occur. This can be very useful for detecting power management issues where the system appears to suspend, but doesn't actually reach its lowest expected power states. Sometimes it's useful in debug and test scenarios to be able to control the duration of that timeout, or even disable the EC timeout mechanism altogether. Add a debugfs control to set the timeout to values other than the EC-defined default, for more convenient debug and development iteration. 2022-08-22scsi: ufs: wb: Add explicit flush sysfs attributeJinyoung Choi
There is the following quirk to bypass "WB Flush" in Write Booster. - UFSHCI_QUIRK_SKIP_MANUAL_WB_FLUSH_CTRL If this quirk is not set, there is no knob that can control "WB Flush". There are three flags that control Write Booster Feature: 1. WB ON/OFF 2. WB Hibern Flush ON/OFF (implicitly) 3. WB Flush ON/OFF (explicit) The sysfs attribute that controls the WB was implemented. (1) In the case of "Hibern Flush", it is always good to turn on. Control may not be required. (2) Finally, "Flush" may be necessary because the Auto-Hibern8 is not supported in a specific environment. So the sysfs attribute that controls this is necessary. 2022-08-15iio: core: Introduce _zeropoint for differential channelsJonathan Cameron
Address an ABI gap for device where the offset of both lines in a differential pair may be controlled so as to allow a wider range of inputs, but without having any direct effect of the differential measurement. _offset cannot be used as to remain in line with existing usage, userspace would be expected to apply it as (_raw + _offset) * _scale whereas _zeropoint is not. i.e. If we were computing the differential in software it would be. ((postive_raw + _zeropoint) - (negative_raw + zeropoint) + _offset) * _scale = ((postive_raw - negative_raw) + _offset) * _scale = (differential_raw + _offset) * _scale Similarly calibbias is expected to tweak the measurement seen, not the adjust the two lines of the differential pair. Needed for in_capacitanceX-capacitanceY_zeropoint for the AD7746 CDC driver. In some use cases[1], the backend is created while the frontend doesn't support the persistent grants feature, but later the frontend can be changed to support the feature and reconnect. In the past, 'blkback' enabled the persistent grants feature since it unconditionally checked if frontend supports the persistent grants feature for every connect ('connect_ring()') and decided whether it should use persistent grans or not. However, commit aac8a70db24b ("xen-blkback: add a parameter for disabling of persistent grants") has mistakenly changed the behavior. It made the frontend feature support check to not be repeated once it shown the 'feature_persistent' as 'false', or the frontend doesn't support persistent grants. Similar behavioral change has made on 'blkfront' by commit 74a852479c68 ("xen-blkfront: add a parameter for disabling of persistent grants"). This commit changes the behavior of the parameter to make effect for every connect, so that the previous behavior of 'blkfront' can be restored. 2022-07-25cxl/hdm: Commit decoder state to hardwareDan Williams
After all the soft validation of the region has completed, convey the region configuration to hardware while being careful to commit decoders in specification mandated order. In addition to programming the endpoint decoder base-address, interleave ways and granularity, the switch decoder target lists are also established. While the kernel can enforce spec-mandated commit order, it can not enforce spec-mandated reset order. For example, the kernel can't stop someone from removing an endpoint device that is occupying decoderN in a switch decoder where decoderN+1 is also committed. To reset decoderN, decoderN+1 must be torn down first. That "tear down the world" implementation is saved for a follow-on patch. Callback operations are provided for the 'commit' and 'reset' operations. While those callbacks may prove useful for CXL accelerators (Type-2 devices with memory) the primary motivation is to enable a simple way for cxl_test to intercept those operations. 2022-07-25cxl/region: Allocate HPA capacity to regionsDan Williams
After a region's interleave parameters (ways and granularity) are set, add a way for regions to allocate HPA (host physical address space) from the free capacity in their parent root-decoder. The allocator for this capacity reuses the 'struct resource' based allocator used for CONFIG_DEVICE_PRIVATE. Once the tuple of "ways, granularity, [uuid], and size" is set the region configuration transitions to the CXL_CONFIG_INTERLEAVE_ACTIVE state which is a precursor to allowing endpoint decoders to be added to a region. The process of provisioning a region involves triggering the creation of a new region object, pouring in the configuration, and then binding that configured object to the region driver to start its operation. For persistent memory regions the CXL specification mandates that it identified by a uuid. Add an ABI for userspace to specify a region's uuid.
