2019-06-21ARM: exynos: Only build MCPM support if usedArnd Bergmann
We get a link error for configurations that enable an Exynos SoC that does not require MCPM, but then manually enable MCPM anyway without also turning on the arm-cci: arch/arm/mach-exynos/mcpm-exynos.o: In function `exynos_pm_power_up_setup': mcpm-exynos.c:(.text+0x8): undefined reference to `cci_enable_port_for_self' Change it back to only build the code we actually need, by introducing a CONFIG_EXYNOS_MCPM that serves the same purpose as the older CONFIG_EXYNOS5420_MCPM. 2019-06-19ARM: use arch_extension directive instead of arch argumentStefan Agner
The LLVM Target parser currently does not allow to specify the security extension as part of -march (see also LLVM Bug 40186 [0]). When trying to use Clang with LLVM's integrated assembler, this leads to build errors such as this: clang-8: error: the clang compiler does not support '-Wa,-march=armv7-a+sec' Use ".arch_extension sec" to enable the security extension in a more portable fasion. Also make sure to use ".arch armv7-a" in case a v6/v7 multi-platform kernel is being built. Note that this is technically not exactly the same as the old code checked for availabilty of the security extension by calling as-instr. However, there are already other sites which use ".arch_extension sec" unconditionally, hence de-facto we need an assembler capable of ".arch_extension sec" already today (arch/arm/mm/proc-v7.S). The arch extension "sec" is available since binutils 2.21 according to its documentation [1]. 2019-04-10ARM: exynos: Set MCPM as mandatory for Exynos542x/5800 SoCsMarek Szyprowski
Support for Exynos5420/5422/5800 SoCs requires MCPM to properly boot all CPU cores on all currectly supported platforms: Peach Pit (Exynos5420), Odroid XU3/XU3lite/XU4/HC1 (Exynos5422) and Peach Pi (Exynos5800). 2016-02-25drivers: soc: Add support for Exynos PMU driverPankaj Dubey
This patch moves Exynos PMU driver implementation from "arm/mach-exynos" to "drivers/soc/samsung". This driver is mainly used for setting misc bits of register from PMU IP of Exynos SoC which will be required to configure before Suspend/Resume. Currently all these settings are done in "arch/arm/mach-exynos/pmu.c" but moving ahead for ARM64 based SoC support, there is a need of this PMU driver in driver/* folder. 2014-10-28ARM: EXYNOS: Fix build with ARM_CPU_SUSPEND=nArnd Bergmann
"ARM: EXYNOS: Add support for firmware-assisted suspend/resume" patch added to arch/arm/mach-exynos/firmware.c new references to functions from arch/arm/mach-exynos/sleep.S causing the new CONFIG_PM_SLEEP=n build breakages. Then "ARM: EXYNOS: Fix build with PM_SLEEP=n and ARM_EXYNOS_CPUIDLE=y" patch tried to fix the CONFIG_PM_SLEEP=n issues by always building sleep.S which caused the CONFIG_ARM_CPU_SUSPEND=n build breakage. 2014-10-21ARM: EXYNOS: Add support for firmware-assisted suspend/resumeTomasz Figa
On a numer of Exynos-based boards Linux kernel is running in non-secure mode under a secure firmware. This means that certain operations need to be handled in special way, with firmware assistance. System-wide suspend/resume is an example of such operations. This patch adds support for firmware-assisted suspend/resume by leveraging recently introduced suspend and resume firmware operations and modifying existing suspend/resume paths to account for presence of secure firmware. 2014-10-21ARM: EXYNOS: Move code from hotplug.c to platsmp.cKrzysztof Kozlowski
Cleanup a little the SMP/hotplug code for Exynos by: 1. Moving completely all functions from hotplug.c into the platsmp.c; 2. Deleting the hotplug.c file. After recent cleanups (e.g. 75ad2ab28f0f "ARM: EXYNOS: use v7_exit_coherency_flush macro for cache disabling") there was only CPU power down related code in hotplug.c file. Rationale behind the code movement and benefits: 1. The file platsmp.c is the only user of code located in hotplug.c. Keeping code in hotplug.c required declaring exynos_cpu_die() in common.h. Such dependencies and mentioned exynos_cpu_die() declaration can be removed. 2. In next patches exynos_set_delayed_reset_assertion() will be introduced. This function will be called by: - cpu_leave_power (hotplug.c), - platform_do_lowpower (hotplug.c), - exynos_boot_secondary (platsmp.c). Merging hotplug.c into platsmp.c leads to simpler and cleaner code with less dependencies between files. The commit only moves code around with one additional observable change: the hotplug.c was compiled with custom CFLAGS (-march=armv7-a). These CFLAGS are not necessary any more. The TI EDMA cleanups is a shared branch with the dmaengine tree, with a handful of Davinci-specific fixes on top. After discussion at last year's KS (and some more on the mailing lists), we are here adding a drivers/soc directory. The purpose of this is to keep per-vendor shared code that's needed by different drivers but that doesn't fit into the MFD (nor drivers/platform) model. 2013-04-09ARM: EXYNOS: Add support for Exynos secure firmwareTomasz Figa
Some Exynos-based boards contain secure firmware and must use firmware operations to set up some hardware. This patch adds firmware operations for Exynos secure firmware and a way for board code and device tree to specify that they must be used. Example of use: In board code: ...MACHINE_START(...) /* ... */ .init_early = exynos_firmware_init, /* ... */ MACHINE_END In device tree: / { /* ... */ firmware@0203F000 { compatible = "samsung,secure-firmware"; reg = <0x0203F000 0x1000>; }; /* ... */ }; Signed-off-by: Kyungmin Park <kyungmin.park@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Tomasz Figa <t.figa@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kukjin Kim <kgene.kim@samsung.com>

Pull ARM SoC device tree conversions and enablement from Olof Johansson: "Continued device tree conversion and enablement across a number of platforms; Kirkwood, tegra, i.MX, Exynos, zynq and a couple of other smaller series as well. ux500 has seen continued conversion for platforms. Several platforms have seen pinctrl-via-devicetree conversions for simpler multiplatform. Tegra is adding data for new devices/drivers, and Exynos has a bunch of new bindings and devices added as well. So, pretty much the same progression in the right direction as the last few releases." Pull ARM SoC updates from Olof Johansson: "This contains the bulk of new SoC development for this merge window. Two new platforms have been added, the sunxi platforms (Allwinner A1x SoCs) by Maxime Ripard, and a generic Broadcom platform for a new series of ARMv7 platforms from them, where the hope is that we can keep the platform code generic enough to have them all share one mach directory. The new Broadcom platform is contributed by Christian Daudt. Highbank has grown support for Calxeda's next generation of hardware, ECX-2000. clps711x has seen a lot of cleanup from Alexander Shiyan, and he's also taken on maintainership of the platform. Beyond this there has been a bunch of work from a number of people on converting more platforms to IRQ domains, pinctrl conversion, cleanup and general feature enablement across most of the active platforms."
