2022-03-23clk: sunxi-ng: sun6i-rtc: Add support for H6Samuel Holland
H6 supports IOSC calibration and an ext-osc32k input. Unlike newer SoCs, it has a single parent for its fanout clock. Add support for H6 in the CCU driver, replacing the support in the existing early OF clock provider. 2022-03-23clk: sunxi-ng: Add support for the sun6i RTC clocksSamuel Holland
The RTC power domain in sun6i and newer SoCs manages the 16 MHz RC oscillator (called "IOSC" or "osc16M") and the optional 32 kHz crystal oscillator (called "LOSC" or "osc32k"). Starting with the H6, this power domain also handles the 24 MHz DCXO (called variously "HOSC", "dcxo24M", or "osc24M") as well. The H6 also adds a calibration circuit for IOSC. Later SoCs introduce further variations on the design: - H616 adds an additional mux for the 32 kHz fanout source. - R329 adds an additional mux for the RTC timekeeping clock, a clock for the SPI bus between power domains inside the RTC, and removes the IOSC calibration functionality. Take advantage of the CCU framework to handle this increased complexity. This driver is intended to be a drop-in replacement for the existing RTC clock provider. So some runtime adjustment of the clock parents is needed, both to handle hardware differences, and to support the old binding which omitted some of the input clocks. 2021-11-23clk: sunxi-ng: Allow the CCU core to be built as a moduleSamuel Holland
Like the individual CCU drivers, it can be beneficial for memory consumption of cross-platform configurations to only load the CCU core on the relevant platform. For example, a generic arm64 kernel sees the following improvement when building the CCU core and drivers as modules: before: text data bss dec hex filename 13882360 5251670 360800 19494830 12977ae vmlinux after: text data bss dec hex filename 13734787 5086442 360800 19182029 124b1cd vmlinux So the result is a 390KB total reduction in kernel image size. The one early clock provider (sun5i) requires the core to be built in. Now that loading the MMC driver will trigger loading the CCU core, the MMC timing mode functions do not need a compile-time fallback. 2021-11-23clk: sunxi-ng: Convert early providers to platform driversSamuel Holland
The PRCM CCU drivers depend on clocks provided by other CCU drivers. For example, the sun8i-r-ccu driver uses the "pll-periph" clock provided by the SoC's main CCU. However, sun8i-r-ccu is an early OF clock provider, and many of the main CCUs (e.g. sun50i-a64-ccu) use platform drivers. This means that the consumer clocks will be orphaned until the supplier driver is bound. This can be avoided by converting the remaining CCUs to use platform drivers. Then fw_devlink will ensure the drivers are bound in the optimal order. The sun5i CCU is the only one which actually needs to be an early clock provider, because it provides the clock for the system timer. That one is left alone. 2021-11-22clk: sunxi-ng: Allow drivers to be built as modulesSamuel Holland
While it is useful to build all of the CCU drivers at once, only 1-3 of them will be loaded at a time, or possibly none of them if the kernel is booted on a non-sunxi platform. These CCU drivers are relatively large; 32-bit drivers have 30-50k of data each, while the 64-bit ones are 50-75k due to the increased pointer overhead. About half of that data comes from relocations. Let's allow the user to build these drivers as modules so only the necessary data is loaded. As a first step, convert the CCUs that are already platform drivers. When the drivers are built as modules, normally the file name becomes the module name. However, the current file names are inconsistent with the <platform>-<peripheral> name used everywhere else: the devicetree bindings, the platform driver names, and the Kconfig symbols. Use Makfile logic to rename the modules so they follow the usual pattern. 2021-11-22clk: sunxi-ng: Export symbols used by CCU driversSamuel Holland
For the individual CCU drivers to be built as modules, the ops structs, helper functions, and callback registration functions must be exported. These symbols are intended for use only by the adjacent CCU drivers, so export them into the SUNXI_CCU namespace. of_sunxi_ccu_probe is not exported because it is only used by built-in OF clock providers. 2021-09-13clk: sunxi-ng: Prevent unbinding CCUs via sysfsSamuel Holland
The CCU drivers are not really designed to be unbound. Unbinding a SoC's main CCU is especially pointless, as very few of the peripherals on the SoC will work without it. Let's avoid any potential problems by removing the bind/unbind attributes from sysfs for these drivers. This change is not applied to the "secondary" CCUs (DE, USB) as those could reasonably be unbound without making the system useless. 2021-09-13clk: sunxi-ng: Unregister clocks/resets when unbindingSamuel Holland
Currently, unbinding a CCU driver unmaps the device's MMIO region, while leaving its clocks/resets and their providers registered. This can cause a page fault later when some clock operation tries to perform MMIO. Fix this by separating the CCU initialization from the memory allocation, and then using a devres callback to unregister the clocks and resets. This also fixes a memory leak of the `struct ccu_reset`, and uses the correct owner (the specific platform driver) for the clocks and resets. Early OF clock providers are never unregistered, and limited error handling is possible, so they are mostly unchanged. The error reporting is made more consistent by moving the message inside of_sunxi_ccu_probe. 2021-05-24clk: sunxi-ng: v3s: fix incorrect postdivider on pll-audioTobias Schramm
Commit 46060be6d840 ("clk: sunxi-ng: v3s: use sigma-delta modulation for audio-pll") changed the audio pll on the Allwinner V3s and V3 SoCs to use sigma-delta modulation. In the process the declaration of fixed postdivider providing "pll-audio" was adjusted to provide the desired clock rates from the now sigma-delta modulated pll. However, while the divider used for calculations by the clock framework was adjusted the actual divider programmed into the hardware in sun8i_v3_v3s_ccu_init was left at "divide by four". This broke the "pll-audio" clock, now only providing quater the expected clock rate. It would in general be desirable to program the postdivider for "pll-audio" to four, such that a broader range of frequencies were available on the pll outputs. But the clock for the integrated codec "ac-dig" does not feature a mux that allows to select from all pll outputs as it is just a simple clock gate connected to "pll-audio". Thus we need to set the postdivider to one to be able to provide the 22.5792MHz and 24.576MHz rates required by the internal sun4i codec. This patches fixes the incorrect clock rate by forcing the postdivider to one in sun8i_v3_v3s_ccu_init. 2021-01-20clk: sunxi-ng: h6: Fix clock divider range on some clocksAndre Przywara
While comparing clocks between the H6 and H616, some of the M factor ranges were found to be wrong: the manual says they are only covering two bits [1:0], but our code had "5" in the number-of-bits field. By writing 0xff into that register in U-Boot and via FEL, it could be confirmed that bits [4:2] are indeed masked off, so the manual is right. 2020-02-12clk: sunxi-ng: sun8i-de2: H6 doesn't have rotate coreJernej Skrabec
DE3 documentation regarding presence of rotate core in H6 is a bit confusing. Register descriptions mention bits for enabling rotate core clocks and reset, but general overview doesn't list it as feature of H6 display engine, BSP kernel doesn't support it and there is no interrupt listed for it. Manual poking registers also didn't reveal presence of rotate core. Let's assume there isn't any rotate core on H6 present and remove related clocks. With that done, structures are same as those for H5, so just reuse H5 structure. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "There are a few changes to the core framework this time around, in addition to the normal collection of driver updates to support new SoCs, fix incorrect data, and convert various drivers to clk_hw based APIs. In the core, we allow clk_ops::init() to return an error code now so that we can fail clk registration if the callback does something like fail to allocate memory. We also add a new "terminate" clk_op so that things done in clk_ops::init() can be undone, e.g. free memory. We also spit out a warning now when critical clks fail to enable and we support changing clk rates and enable/disable state through debugfs when developers compile the kernel themselves. On the driver front, we get support for what seems like a lot of Qualcomm and NXP SoCs given that those vendors dominate the diffstat. There are a couple new drivers for Xilinx and Amlogic SoCs too. The updates are all small things like fixing the way glitch free muxes switch parents, avoiding div-by-zero problems, or fixing data like parent names. See the updates section below for more details. Finally, the "basic" clk types have been converted to support specifying parents with clk_hw pointers. This work includes an overhaul of the fixed-rate clk type to be more modern by using clk_hw APIs.
