2019-05-31isdn: remove hisax driverArnd Bergmann
With the decline of ISDN, this seems to have become almost completely obsolete, and even in the past years before that, almost all remaining users appear to have used mISDN instead. Birger Harzenetter noted that he is still using i4l/hisax to take advantage of the 'divert' driver for call diversion, but otherwise uses mISDN on the same hardware. This is a rare edge case as far as I can tell, but we are still breaking an actively used work flow (see https://xkcd.com/1172/). We debated moving i4l/hisax to staging as an intermediate step, but as he is not likely to change the setup, and that would just delay breaking this use case. The alternatives here are to stay on stable kernels < 5.2, to create an external driver repository for isdn4linux, or to add divert functionality to mISDN. 2012-05-18USB: Disable hub-initiated LPM for comms devices.Sarah Sharp
Hub-initiated LPM is not good for USB communications devices. Comms devices should be able to tell when their link can go into a lower power state, because they know when an incoming transmission is finished. Ideally, these devices would slam their links into a lower power state, using the device-initiated LPM, after finishing the last packet of their data transfer. If we enable the idle timeouts for the parent hubs to enable hub-initiated LPM, we will get a lot of useless LPM packets on the bus as the devices reject LPM transitions when they're in the middle of receiving data. Worse, some devices might blindly accept the hub-initiated LPM and power down their radios while they're in the middle of receiving a transmission. The Intel Windows folks are disabling hub-initiated LPM for all USB communications devices under a xHCI USB 3.0 host. In order to keep the Linux behavior as close as possible to Windows, we need to do the same in Linux. Set the disable_hub_initiated_lpm flag for for all USB communications drivers. I know there aren't currently any USB 3.0 devices that implement these class specifications, but we should be ready if they do. 2012-02-21isdn: whitespace coding style cleanupJoe Perches
isdn source code uses a not-current coding style. Update the coding style used on a per-line basis so that git diff -w shows only elided blank lines at EOF. Done with emacs and some scripts and some typing. Built x86 allyesconfig. No detected change in objdump -d or size. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com>
2011-05-13drivers/isdn/hisax: Drop unused listJulia Lawall
The file st5481_init.c locally defines and initializes the adapter_list variable, but does not use it for anything. Removing the list makes it possible to remove the list field from the st5481_adapter data structure. In the function probe_st5481, it also makes it possible to free the locally allocated adapter value on an error exit. Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Signed-off-by: David S. 2007-05-23HiSax: fix error checking for hisax_register()]Alan Stern
This patch (as875) adds error-checking to the callers of hisax_register(). It also changes an error pathway in that routine, making it return an error code rather than 0. This fixes Bugzilla #7960. 2005-11-09[PATCH] changing CONFIG_LOCALVERSION rebuilds too much, for no good reasonOlaf Hering
This patch removes almost all inclusions of linux/version.h. The 3 #defines are unused in most of the touched files. A few drivers use the simple KERNEL_VERSION(a,b,c) macro, which is unfortunatly in linux/version.h. There are also lots of #ifdef for long obsolete kernels, this was not touched. In a few places, the linux/version.h include was move to where the LINUX_VERSION_CODE was used. quilt vi `find * -type f -name "*.[ch]"|xargs grep -El '(UTS_RELEASE|LINUX_VERSION_CODE|KERNEL_VERSION|linux/version.h)'|grep -Ev '(/(boot|coda|drm)/|~$)'` search pattern: /UTS_RELEASE\|LINUX_VERSION_CODE\|KERNEL_VERSION\|linux\/\(utsname\|version\).h Signed-off-by: Olaf Hering <olh@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
