Check for NULL port data in the control URB completion handlers to avoid dereferencing a NULL pointer in the unlikely case where a port device isn't bound to a driver (e.g. after an allocation failure on port probe()). 2019-10-04USB: serial: keyspan: fix NULL-derefs on open() and write()Johan Hovold
Fix NULL-pointer dereferences on open() and write() which can be triggered by a malicious USB device. The current URB allocation helper would fail to initialise the newly allocated URB if the device has unexpected endpoint descriptors, something which could lead NULL-pointer dereferences in a number of open() and write() paths when accessing the URB. For example: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 ... RIP: 0010:usb_clear_halt+0x11/0xc0 ... 2017-11-04USB: serial: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman
Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-04USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This work is based on a script and data from Thomas Gleixner, Philippe Ombredanne, and Kate Stewart. 2016-05-10USB: serial: keyspan: fix use-after-free in probe error pathJohan Hovold
The interface instat and indat URBs were submitted in attach, but never unlinked in release before deallocating the corresponding transfer buffers. In the case of a late probe error (e.g. due to failed minor allocation), disconnect would not have been called before release, causing the buffers to be freed while the URBs are still in use. 2013-06-10USB: serial: ports: add minor and port numberGreg Kroah-Hartman
The usb_serial_port structure had the number field, which was the minor number for the port, which almost no one really cared about. They really wanted the number of the port within the device, which you had to subtract from the minor of the parent usb_serial_device structure. To clean this up, provide the real minor number of the port, and the number of the port within the serial device separately, as these numbers might not be related in the future. Bonus is that this cleans up a lot of logic in the drivers, and saves lines overall. 2012-10-31USB: serial: remove driver version informationJohan Hovold
Remove all MODULE_VERSION macros and driver-version information (except for garmin_gps which uses it in a status reply). It is the kernel version that matters and not some private version scheme which rarely even gets updated. 2012-10-25USB: keyspan: fix NULL-pointer dereferences and memory leaksJohan Hovold
Fix NULL-pointer dereference at release by moving port data allocation and deallocation to port_probe and port_remove. Fix NULL-pointer dereference at disconnect by stopping port urbs at port_remove. Since commit 0998d0631001288 (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound) the port private data is no longer accessible at disconnect or release. Note that this patch also fixes port and interface-data memory leaks in the error path of attach should port initialisation fail for any port. Compile-only tested. Pull USB changes from Greg Kroah-Hartman: "Here is the big USB pull request for 3.7-rc1 There are lots of gadget driver changes (including copying a bunch of files into the drivers/staging/ccg/ directory so that the other gadget drivers can be fixed up properly without breaking that driver), and we remove the old obsolete ub.c driver from the tree. There are also the usual XHCI set of updates, and other various driver changes and updates. We also are trying hard to remove the old dbg() macro, but the final bits of that removal will be coming in through the networking tree before we can delete it for good. All of these patches have been in the linux-next tree. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>" Fix up several annoying - but fairly mindless - conflicts due to the termios structure having moved into the tty device, and often clashing with dbg -> dev_dbg conversion. * tag 'usb-3.6' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/usb: (339 commits) USB: ezusb: move ezusb.c from drivers/usb/serial to drivers/usb/misc USB: uas: fix gcc warning USB: uas: fix locking USB: Fix race condition when removing host controllers USB: uas: add locking USB: uas: fix abort USB: uas: remove aborted field, replace with status bit. 2012-09-18USB: ezusb: add functions for firmware downloadRene Buergel
This patch adds new functions to upload firmware to the controller. The drivers currently using ezusb are adapted to use these new functions. This also fixes a bug occuring during firmware loading in the whiteheat-driver: The driver iterates over an ihex-formatted firmware using ++ on a "const struct ihex_binrec*" which leads to faulty results, because ihex data is read as length. The function "ihex_next_binrec(record)" has so be used to work correctly Signed-off-by: René Bürgel <rene.buergel@sohard.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

This Patch adds support for the newer Cypress FX2LP. It also adapts three drivers currently using ezusb to the interface change. (whiteheat and keyspan[_pda]) Signed-off-by: René Bürgel <rene.buergel@sohard.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

Now that all usb-serial modules are only using dev_dbg() the debug module parameter does not do anything at all, so remove it to reduce any confusion if someone were to try to use it. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
