2019-04-27genetlink: optionally validate strictly/dumpsJohannes Berg
Add options to strictly validate messages and dump messages, sometimes perhaps validating dump messages non-strictly may be required, so add an option for that as well. Since none of this can really be applied to existing commands, set the options everwhere using the following spatch: @@ identifier ops; expression X; @@ struct genl_ops ops[] = { ..., { .cmd = X, + .validate = GENL_DONT_VALIDATE_STRICT | GENL_DONT_VALIDATE_DUMP, ... }, ... }; For new commands one should just not copy the .validate 'opt-out' flags and thus get strict validation. 2019-03-22genetlink: make policy common to familyJohannes Berg
Since maxattr is common, the policy can't really differ sanely, so make it common as well. The only user that did in fact manage to make a non-common policy is taskstats, which has to be really careful about it (since it's still using a common maxattr!). This is no longer supported, but we can fake it using pre_doit. This reduces the size of e.g. nl80211.o (which has lots of commands): text data bss dec hex filename 398745 14323 2240 415308 6564c net/wireless/nl80211.o (before) 397913 14331 2240 414484 65314 net/wireless/nl80211.o (after) -------------------------------- -832 +8 0 -824 Which is obviously just 8 bytes for each command, and an added 8 bytes for the new policy pointer. I'm not sure why the ops list is counted as .text though. Most of the code transformations were done using the following spatch: @ops@ identifier OPS; expression POLICY; @@ struct genl_ops OPS[] = { ..., { - .policy = POLICY, }, ... }; @@ identifier ops.OPS; expression ops.POLICY; identifier fam; expression M; @@ struct genl_family fam = { .ops = OPS, .maxattr = M, + .policy = POLICY, ... }; This also gets rid of devlink_nl_cmd_region_read_dumpit() accessing the cb->data as ops, which we want to change in a later genl patch. 2017-10-25locking/atomics: COCCINELLE/treewide: Convert trivial ACCESS_ONCE() patterns ↵Mark Rutland
to READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() Please do not apply this to mainline directly, instead please re-run the coccinelle script shown below and apply its output. For several reasons, it is desirable to use {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() in preference to ACCESS_ONCE(), and new code is expected to use one of the former. So far, there's been no reason to change most existing uses of ACCESS_ONCE(), as these aren't harmful, and changing them results in churn. However, for some features, the read/write distinction is critical to correct operation. To distinguish these cases, separate read/write accessors must be used. This patch migrates (most) remaining ACCESS_ONCE() instances to {READ,WRITE}_ONCE(), using the following coccinelle script: ---- // Convert trivial ACCESS_ONCE() uses to equivalent READ_ONCE() and // WRITE_ONCE() // $ make coccicheck COCCI=/home/mark/once.cocci SPFLAGS="--include-headers" MODE=patch virtual patch @ depends on patch @ expression E1, E2; @@ - ACCESS_ONCE(E1) = E2 + WRITE_ONCE(E1, E2) @ depends on patch @ expression E; @@ - ACCESS_ONCE(E) + READ_ONCE(E) ---- Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Paul E. 2016-10-27genetlink: mark families as __ro_after_initJohannes Berg
Now genl_register_family() is the only thing (other than the users themselves, perhaps, but I didn't find any doing that) writing to the family struct. In all families that I found, genl_register_family() is only called from __init functions (some indirectly, in which case I've add __init annotations to clarifly things), so all can actually be marked __ro_after_init. This protects the data structure from accidental corruption. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-10-27genetlink: statically initialize familiesJohannes Berg
Instead of providing macros/inline functions to initialize the families, make all users initialize them statically and get rid of the macros. This reduces the kernel code size by about 1.6k on x86-64 (with allyesconfig). Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-10-27genetlink: no longer support using static family IDsJohannes Berg
Static family IDs have never really been used, the only use case was the workaround I introduced for those users that assumed their family ID was also their multicast group ID. Additionally, because static family IDs would never be reserved by the generic netlink code, using a relatively low ID would only work for built-in families that can be registered immediately after generic netlink is started, which is basically only the control family (apart from the workaround code, which I also had to add code for so it would reserve those IDs) Thus, anything other than GENL_ID_GENERATE is flawed and luckily not used except in the cases I mentioned. Move those workarounds into a few lines of code, and then get rid of GENL_ID_GENERATE entirely, making it more robust. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-06-27calipso: Add a label cache.Huw Davies
This works in exactly the same way as the CIPSO label cache. The idea is to allow the lsm to cache the result of a secattr lookup so that it doesn't need to perform the lookup for every skbuff. It introduces two sysctl controls: calipso_cache_enable - enables/disables the cache. calipso_cache_bucket_size - sets the size of a cache bucket. 2016-06-27calipso: Allow the lsm to label the skbuff directly.Huw Davies
In some cases, the lsm needs to add the label to the skbuff directly. A NF_INET_LOCAL_OUT IPv6 hook is added to selinux to match the IPv4 behaviour. This allows selinux to label the skbuffs that it requires. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-27calipso: Allow request sockets to be relabelled by the lsm.Huw Davies
Request sockets need to have a label that takes into account the incoming connection as well as their parent's label. This is used for the outgoing SYN-ACK and for their child full-socket. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>
2016-06-27calipso: Set the calipso socket label to match the secattr.Huw Davies
CALIPSO is a hop-by-hop IPv6 option. A lot of this patch is based on the equivalent CISPO code. The main difference is due to manipulating the options in the hop-by-hop header. Signed-off-by: Huw Davies <huw@codeweavers.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com>

2016-06-27netlabel: Add support for enumerating the CALIPSO DOI list.Huw Davies

2016-06-27netlabel: Add support for querying a CALIPSO DOI.Huw Davies

2016-06-27netlabel: Initial support for the CALIPSO netlink protocol.Huw Davies
CALIPSO is a packet labelling protocol for IPv6 which is very similar to CIPSO. It is specified in RFC 5570. Much of the code is based on the current CIPSO code. This adds support for adding passthrough-type CALIPSO DOIs through the NLBL_CALIPSO_C_ADD command. It requires attributes: NLBL_CALIPSO_A_TYPE which must be CALIPSO_MAP_PASS. NLBL_CALIPSO_A_DOI. In passthrough mode the CALIPSO engine will map MLS secattr levels and categories directly to the packet label. At this stage, the major difference between this and the CIPSO code is that IPv6 may be compiled as a module. To allow for this the CALIPSO functions are registered at module init time.
