2022-08-12net/sunrpc: fix potential memory leaks in rpc_sysfs_xprt_state_change()Xin Xiong
The issue happens on some error handling paths. When the function fails to grab the object `xprt`, it simply returns 0, forgetting to decrease the reference count of another object `xps`, which is increased by rpc_sysfs_xprt_kobj_get_xprt_switch(), causing refcount leaks. Also, the function forgets to check whether `xps` is valid before using it, which may result in NULL-dereferencing issues. Fix it by adding proper error handling code when either `xprt` or `xps` is NULL. 2022-07-25SUNRPC expose functions for offline remote xprt functionalityOlga Kornievskaia
Re-arrange the code that make offline transport and delete transport callable functions. Signed-off-by: Olga Kornievskaia <kolga@netapp.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@hammerspace.com>
2022-03-25SUNRPC: Don't return error values in sysfs read of closed filesTrond Myklebust
Instead of returning an error value, which ends up being the return value for the read() system call, it is more elegant to simply return the error as a string value. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@hammerspace.com>
2022-03-25SUNRPC: Do not dereference non-socket transports in sysfsTrond Myklebust
Do not cast the struct xprt to a sock_xprt unless we know it is a UDP or TCP transport. Otherwise the call to lock the mutex will scribble over whatever structure is actually there. This has been seen to cause hard system lockups when the underlying transport was RDMA. 2022-02-08SUNRPC: lock against ->sock changing during sysfs readNeilBrown
->sock can be set to NULL asynchronously unless ->recv_mutex is held. So it is important to hold that mutex. Otherwise a sysfs read can trigger an oops. Commit 17f09d3f619a ("SUNRPC: Check if the xprt is connected before handling sysfs reads") appears to attempt to fix this problem, but it only narrows the race window. 2022-01-13sunrpc: Fix potential race conditions in rpc_sysfs_xprt_state_change()Anna Schumaker
We need to use test_and_set_bit() when changing xprt state flags to avoid potentially getting xps->xps_nactive out of sync. Signed-off-by: Anna Schumaker <Anna.Schumaker@Netapp.com>
2022-01-13net/sunrpc: fix reference count leaks in rpc_sysfs_xprt_state_changeXiyu Yang
The refcount leak issues take place in an error handling path. When the 3rd argument buf doesn't match with "offline", "online" or "remove", the function simply returns -EINVAL and forgets to decrease the reference count of a rpc_xprt object and a rpc_xprt_switch object increased by rpc_sysfs_xprt_kobj_get_xprt() and rpc_sysfs_xprt_kobj_get_xprt_switch(), causing reference count leaks of both unused objects. Fix this issue by jumping to the error handling path labelled with out_put when buf matches none of "offline", "online" or "remove". 2022-01-06SUNRPC: use default_groups in kobj_typeGreg Kroah-Hartman
There are currently 2 ways to create a set of sysfs files for a kobj_type, through the default_attrs field, and the default_groups field. Move the sunrpc sysfs code to use default_groups field which has been the preferred way since aa30f47cf666 ("kobject: Add support for default attribute groups to kobj_type") so that we can soon get rid of the obsolete default_attrs field. 2021-11-04SUNRPC: Check if the xprt is connected before handling sysfs readsAnna Schumaker
xprts don't immediately reconnect when changing the "dstaddr" property, instead this gets handled the next time an operation uses the transport. This could lead to NULL pointer dereferences when trying to read sysfs files between the disconnect and reconnect operations. Fix this by returning an error if the xprt is not connected. 2021-08-27SUNRPC add xps_nunique_destaddr_xprts to xprt_switch_info in sysfsOlga Kornievskaia

2021-08-09SUNRPC: Add dst_port to the sysfs xprt info fileAnna Schumaker
This is most likely going to be 2049 for NFS, but some servers might be configured to export on a non-standard port. Let's show this information just in case somebody needs it. Signed-off-by: Anna Schumaker <Anna.Schumaker@Netapp.com>
2021-08-09SUNRPC: Add srcaddr as a file in sysfsAnna Schumaker
I don't support changing it right now, but it could be useful information for clients with multiple network cards. Signed-off-by: Anna Schumaker <Anna.Schumaker@Netapp.com>
2021-07-08sunrpc: remove an offlined xprt using sysfsOlga Kornievskaia
Once a transport has been put offline, this transport can be also removed from the list of transports. Any tasks that have been stuck on this transport would find the next available active transport and be re-tried. This transport would be removed from the xprt_switch list and freed. 2021-07-08sunrpc: display xprt's queuelen of assigned tasks via sysfsOlga Kornievskaia
Once a task grabs a trasnport it's reflected in the queuelen of the rpc_xprt structure. Add display of that value in the xprt's info file in sysfs. Signed-off-by: Olga Kornievskaia <kolga@netapp.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@hammerspace.com>
2021-07-08SUNRPC: take a xprt offline using sysfsOlga Kornievskaia
Using sysfs's xprt_state attribute, mark a particular transport offline. It will not be picked during the round-robin selection. It's not allowed to take the main (1st created transport associated with the rpc_client) offline. Also bring a transport back online via sysfs by writing "online" and that would allow for this transport to be picked during the round- robin selection. 2021-07-08SUNRPC for TCP display xprt's source port in sysfs xprt_infoOlga Kornievskaia

2021-07-08sunrpc: add dst_attr attributes to the sysfs xprt directoryOlga Kornievskaia

2021-07-08sunrpc: add add sysfs directory per xprt under each xprt_switchOlga Kornievskaia
Add individual transport directories under each transport switch group. For instance, for each nconnect=X connections there will be a transport directory. Naming conventions also identifies transport type -- xprt-<id>-<type> where type is udp, tcp, rdma, local, bc. 2021-07-08sunrpc: add a symlink from rpc-client directory to the xprt_switchOlga Kornievskaia
An rpc client uses a transport switch and one ore more transports associated with that switch. Since transports are shared among rpc clients, create a symlink into the xprt_switch directory instead of duplicating entries under each rpc client.
