2020-01-17common: Move reset_misc() function to arch headerSimon Glass
This function is only used on ARM devices. Move it out of the common file and to a arch-specific header. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-01-17common: arm: Move s_init() to an ARM-specific headerSimon Glass
This function is only used on ARM devices so does not belong in the global common header file. Move it to an ARM header. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-10-10arm: remove duplicated prototypes in u-boot.arm.hPatrick Delaunay
Remove the function prototypes duplicated between u-boot.arm.h and init.h/common.h Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-10-10arm: remove prototype for get_timer_maskedPatrick Delaunay
The interruption support had be removed for ARM architecture and the function get_timer_masked() is no more used except in some the timer.c files. This patch clean each timer.c which implement this function and remove the associated prototype in u-boot-arm.h For timer.c, I don't verify if the weak version of get_timer (in lib/time.c) can be used Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-10-10arm: remove prototype for udelay_maskedPatrick Delaunay
The interruption support had be removed for ARM architecture and the function udelay_masked() is no more used except in some timer.c files and have the same content than udelay() or __udelay(). This patch update each timer.c implementing this function and remove the associated prototype in u-boot-arm.h. Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-10-10arm: remove prototype for reset_timer_maskedPatrick Delaunay
Remove prototype for function only used in one file Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-10-10arm: remove prototype for arch_interrupt_initPatrick Delaunay
Remove prototype for no more existing function Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-06-03Define board_quiesce_devices() in a shared locationSimon Glass
This undocumented function relies on arch-specific code to declare a nop weak version. Add the weak function in common code instead to avoid having to duplicate the same function in each arch. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-06-05arm: Add declarations to avoid needing to include headersSimon Glass
At present common.h includes various ARM-specific headers. In preparation for dropping this, add a few explicit declarations. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-06-05arm: Make u-boot-arm.h a private headerSimon Glass
Rather than including this arch-specific header file in common.h, include it from within arm's u-boot.h header. Also drop the comment about something to be fixed. It has been there forever and it is not clear what it means. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-04-05Move dram_init_banksize() to a common headerSimon Glass
This is an weak function present on all archs so we should have it in the common header file. Remove it from arch-specific headers and add a function comment. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop setup_dram_config() wrapperSimon Glass
By making dram_init_banksize() return an error code we can drop the wrapper. Adjust this and clean up all implementations. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
2016-11-17ls2080: Exit dpaa only right before exiting U-BootAlexander Graf
On ls2080 we have a separate network fabric component which we need to shut down before we enter Linux (or any other OS). Along with that also comes configuration of the fabric using a description file. Today we always stop and configure the fabric in the boot script and (again) exit it on device tree generation. This works ok for the normal booti case, but with bootefi the payload we're running may still want to access the network. So let's add a new fsl_mc command that defers configuration and stopping the hardware to when we actually exit U-Boot, so that we can still use the fabric from an EFI payload. For existing boot scripts, nothing should change with this patch. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de> Reviewed-by: York Sun <york.sun@nxp.com> [agraf: Fix x86 build]

2013-05-14arm: Refactor bootm to reduce #ifdefsSimon Glass
With fewer #ifdefs the code is more readable and more of the code is compiled for all boards. Add defines in the header file to control what features are enabled, and then use if() instead of #ifdef. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2013-03-15arm: Use sections header to obtain link symbolsSimon Glass
Include this header to get access to link symbols, which are otherwise removed. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2012-07-07ARM: introduce arch_early_init_r()Fabio Estevam
Introduce arch_early_init_r() function, which can be useful for doing early initialization after relocation has happened. Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com>
2011-12-09arm: Move CP15 init out of cpu_init_crit()Simon Glass
Some SOCs have do not start up with their 'main' CPU. The first U-Boot code may then be executed with a CPU which does not have a CP15, or not a useful one. Here we split the initialization of CP15 into a separate call, which can be performed later if required. Once the main CPU is running, you should call cpu_init_cp15() to perform this init as early as possible. Existing ARMv7 boards which define CONFIG_SKIP_LOWLEVEL_INIT should not need to change, this CP15 init is still skipped in that case. The only impact for these boards is that the cpu_init_cp15() will be available even if it is never used on these boards. 2011-03-27arm: fix incorrect monitor protection region in FLASHPo-Yu Chuang
Monitor protection region in FLASH did not cover .rel.dyn and .dynsym sections, because it uses __bss_start to compute monitor_flash_len. Use _end instead. Add _end to linker scripts for end of u-boot image Add _end_ofs to all the start.S. Signed-off-by: Po-Yu Chuang <ratbert@faraday-tech.com>
2010-10-29Drop support for CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOCWolfgang Denk
When this define was introduced, the idea was to provide a soft migration path for ARM boards to get adapted to the new relocation support. However, other recent changes led to a different implementation (ELF relocation), where this no longer works. By now CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC does not only not help any more, but it actually hurts because it obfuscates the actual code by sprinkling it with lots of dead and non-working debris. So let's make a clean cut and drop CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Tested-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Tested-by: Reinhard Meyer <u-boot@emk-elektronik.de>

2010-09-19ARM: add relocation supportHeiko Schocher
!! This breaks support for all arm boards !! To compile in old style, you must define CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC or you can compile with "CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC=1 ./MAKEALL board" !!
