2023-08-09treewide: rework linker symbol declarations in sections headerShiji Yang
1. Convert all linker symbols to char[] type so that we can get the corresponding address by calling array name 'var' or its address '&var'. In this way, we can avoid some potential issues[1]. 2. Remove unused symbol '_TEXT_BASE'. It has been abandoned and has not been referenced by any source code. 3. Move '__data_end' to the arch x86's own sections header as it's only used by x86 arch. 4. Remove some duplicate declared linker symbols. Now we use the standard header file to declare them. [1] This patch fixes the boot failure on MIPS target. The primary purpose for this code was timer. By converting it to CONFIG_TIMER there is no code which uses this implementation that's why remove it. If there is a need to handle interrupts this patch can be reverted in future. 2022-06-24microblaze: Convert axi timer to DM driverMichal Simek
Move axi timer driver from Microblaze to generic location. Origin implementation was irq based with counting down timer. CONFIG_TIMER drivers are designed differently that timer is free running up timer with automatic reload without any interrupt. Information about clock rates are find out in timer_pre_probe() that's why there is no need to get any additional information from DT in the driver itself (only register offset). 2022-06-24microblaze: cache: introduce cpuinfo structureOvidiu Panait
Introduce a minimal cpuinfo structure to hold cache related info. The instruction/data cache size and cache line size are initialized early in the boot to default Kconfig values. They will be overwritten with data from PVR/dtb if the microblaze UCLASS_CPU driver is enabled. The cpuinfo struct was placed in global_data to allow the microblaze UCLASS_CPU driver to also run before relocation (initialized global data should be read-only before relocation). gd_cpuinfo() helper macro was added to avoid volatile "-Wdiscarded-qualifiers" warnings when using the pointer directly. 2022-06-24microblaze: cache: introduce flush_cache_all()Ovidiu Panait
All flush_cache() calls in microblaze code are supposed to flush the entire instruction and data caches, so introduce flush_cache_all() helper to handle this. Also, provide implementations for flush_dcache_all() and invalidate_icache_all() so that icache and dcache u-boot commands can work. Microblaze can also have reserved space in DT which u-boot has to avoid to placing self to that location. The same change was done in Zynqmp by commit ce39ee28ec31 ("zynqmp: Do not place u-boot to reserved memory location"). 2022-01-05microblaze: u-boot.lds: replace __end symbol with _endOvidiu Panait
board_fdt_blob_setup() uses the _end symbol to find the dtb in the non-spl case. In order to allow microblaze builds to compile successfully with CONFIG_OF_SEPARATE, the _end symbol must be defined. Align microblaze with the other architectures and use _end symbol rather than __end to mark the end of the u-boot binary. 2019-10-08microblaze: Switch to generic bootm implementationMichal Simek
There is no reason to use private code for standard bootm command. Current implementation is also broken and don't support image relocation properly. Switching to generic bootm implementation is fixing these issues. cmdline and bdt bootm subcommands are returning -1 because they are not implemented. All architectures have the same definition for s8/16/32/64 and u8/16/32/64. Factor out the duplicated code into <asm-generic/int-ll64.h>. BTW, Linux unified the kernel space definition into int-ll64.h a few years ago as you see in Linux commit 0c79a8e29b5f ("asm/types.h: Remove include/asm-generic/int-l64.h"). 2018-07-19microblaze: Convert generic platform to DM gpioMichal Simek
Converting GPIO to DM requires to do changes in reset subsystem that's why support for Microblaze soft reset via sysreset and GPIO sysreset support was added. These two patches enables enabling GPIO DM. Microblaze soft reset is bind at last reset method. GPIO reset is handled via sysreset with adding this fragment to DT. gpio-restart { compatible = "gpio-restart"; gpios = <&reset_gpio 0 0 0>; /* 3rd cell ACTIVE_HIGH = 0, ACTIVE_LOW = 1 */ }; hard-reset-gpio property is not documented and also handled. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. Unlike Linux, nothing about errno.h is arch-specific in U-Boot. As you see, all of arch/${ARCH}/include/asm/errno.h is just a wrapper of <asm-generic/errno.h>. Actually, U-Boot does not export headers to user-space, so we just have to care about the consistency in the U-Boot tree. Now all of include directives for <asm/errno.h> are gone. 2015-11-19microblaze: Fix C99/gnu99 compatiblity for inline functionsNathan Rossi
'extern inline' is not portable across various C standards. To ensure compatiblity with various standards/compilers change the functions to static inline. This is a portable construct and serves as a comparable definition to 'extern inline' from the gnu90 standard. Additionally remove the function prototypes as they are not required due to the functions being declared static and functions are correctly ordered based on dependence. 2013-05-09gpio: Add support for microblaze xilinx GPIOMichal Simek
Microblaze uses gpio which is connected to the system reset. Currently gpio subsystem wasn't used for it. Add gpio driver and change Microblaze reset logic to be done via gpio subsystem. There are various configurations which Microblaze can have that's why gpio_alloc/gpio_alloc_dual(for dual channel) function has been introduced and gpio can be allocated dynamically. Adding several gpios IP is also possible and supported.
