2018-10-22board: at91sam9x5: add environment var for cpu typeEugen Hristev
When booting and CPU is detected from cpuid, we also need an environment variable that will be used in boot commands to load the proper devicetree. Signed-off-by: Eugen Hristev <eugen.hristev@microchip.com>

2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2017-01-28Revert "arm: Remove unregister MACH_TYPE_xxx uses"Tom Rini
This reverts commit 70b26cd057f42c7126088b49d4285955c8a00eae. This is not a strict revert as it is easier to fix board/atmark-techno/armadillo-800eva/armadillo-800eva.c to now the correct name (same value) than to revert that change too. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-01-14arm: Remove unregister MACH_TYPE_xxx usesTom Rini
Before we can sync with the latest mach-types.h file from the Linux Kernel we need to remove some instances of MACH_TYPE_xxx from our sources. As these values have been removed from the canonical upstream source we should not be using them either, so drop. 2016-06-03nand: Embed mtd_info in struct nand_chipScott Wood
nand_info[] is now an array of pointers, with the actual mtd_info instance embedded in struct nand_chip. This is in preparation for syncing the NAND code with Linux 4.6, which makes the same change to struct nand_chip. 2015-02-21ARM: at91: move board select menu and common settingsMasahiro Yamada
The board select menu in arch/arm/Kconfig is still big. To slim down it, this commit moves AT91 boards to arch/arm/mach-at91/Kconfig. Also, consolidate "config SYS_SOC" in each board Kconfig. The Kconfig files under board/ directory were modified with the following command: find board -name Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config SYS_SOC/ { N /default "at91"/ { N d } } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Acked-by: Andreas Bießmann <andreas.devel@googlemail.co>
2014-10-29kconfig: arm: introduce symbol for ARM CPUsGeorges Savoundararadj
This commit introduces a Kconfig symbol for each ARM CPU: CPU_ARM720T, CPU_ARM920T, CPU_ARM926EJS, CPU_ARM946ES, CPU_ARM1136, CPU_ARM1176, CPU_V7, CPU_PXA, CPU_SA1100. Also, it adds the CPU feature Kconfig symbol HAS_VBAR which is selected for CPU_ARM1176 and CPU_V7. For each target, the corresponding CPU is selected and the definition of SYS_CPU in the corresponding Kconfig file is removed. Also, it removes redundant "string" type in some Kconfig files. 2014-09-13kconfig: remove redundant "string" type in arch and board KconfigsMasahiro Yamada
Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. This commit can be easily reproduced by the following command: find . -name Kconfig -a ! -path ./arch/Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config[[:space:]]SYS_\(ARCH\|CPU\|SOC\|\VENDOR\|BOARD\|CONFIG_NAME\)/ { N s/\n[[:space:]]*string// } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>
2014-07-30Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada
We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. 2014-07-30kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada
This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/.
