2023-10-09board: Remove essentially empty board files and MakefilesTom Rini
As part of reviewing a new platform, Daniel Schwierzeck noted that we can have an empty Makefile in the board directory and don't need an empty board.c file as well. 2023-08-09treewide: rework linker symbol declarations in sections headerShiji Yang
1. Convert all linker symbols to char[] type so that we can get the corresponding address by calling array name 'var' or its address '&var'. In this way, we can avoid some potential issues[1]. 2. Remove unused symbol '_TEXT_BASE'. It has been abandoned and has not been referenced by any source code. 3. Move '__data_end' to the arch x86's own sections header as it's only used by x86 arch. 4. Remove some duplicate declared linker symbols. Now we use the standard header file to declare them. [1] This patch fixes the boot failure on MIPS target. 2022-10-18stm32mp: fix compilation issue with DEBUG_UARTPatrick Delaunay
Fix the compilation issue when CONFIG_DEBUG_UART is activated drivers/serial/serial_stm32.o: in function `debug_uart_init': drivers/serial/serial_stm32.c:291: undefined reference to \ `board_debug_uart_init' The board_debug_uart_init is needed for SPL boot, called in cpu.c::mach_cpu_init(); it is defined in board/st/stm32mp1/spl.c. But with the removal #ifdefs patch, the function debug_uart_init() is always compiled even if not present in the final U-Boot image. This patch adds a file to provided this function when DEBUG_UART and SPL are activated. 2021-11-10board: stmp32mp1: split board and SOC STM32MP15 configurationPatrick Delaunay
Add a configuration file "stm32mp15_st_common.h" to handle the STMicroelectronics boards configuration and rename stm32mp1.h to "stm32mp15_common.h" to handle the generic STM32MP15x series configuration. The configuration file "dh_stm32mp1.h" is also renamed to "stm32mp15_dh_dhcom" for the configuration of board based on the dhelectronics STM32MP15x SOM. In the STMicroelectronics board configuration the default bootcmd "bootcmd_stm32mp" is updated to only select the extlinux file found on SD-Card on STM32MP15x EV1 for boot from NOR device. 2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. fdt_file is looking for imx6ul-geam-kit.dtb but Linux has imx6ul-geam.dtb, since Linux skipped -kit on file name by below commit. "ARM: dts: imx6ul-geam: Skip suffix -kit from dts name" (sha1: 182de5ebce71e469cfa686fcdf08c9cbe11ece97) So, due to this mismatch U-Boot failed to pick the proper dtb which eventually break the Linux boot.
