2021-03-01Respect that some compression algos can be enabled separately for SPLFrieder Schrempf
Some compression algorithms currently can be enabled for SPL and U-Boot proper separately. 2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. So far we used the separate mksunxiboot tool for generating a bootable image for Allwinner SPLs, probably just for historical reasons. Use the mkimage framework to generate a so called eGON image the Allwinner BROM expects. The new image type is called "sunxi_egon", to differentiate it from the (still to be implemented) secure boot TOC0 image. 2020-08-27image: don't exceed gd->ram_top in bootm_sizeBaruch Siach
When board_get_usable_ram_top() limits gd->ram_top, env_get_bootm_size() must not exceed that limit. Otherwise, boot_relocate_fdt() might put fdt out of the allowed RAM range. The similar commit 8ce1f10cf2b1 ("ARM: bootm: take into account gd->ram_top") exposed this bug. This fixes boot on Armada 8040 based Clearfog GT-8K where ram_top is set to 0x80000000 (2GB), but bi_dram[0].size might be up to 0xc0000000 (3GB). 2020-07-17treewide: convert bd_t to struct bd_info by coccinelleMasahiro Yamada
The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst) clearly says: It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers. Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make headers self-contained. Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header: void foo(bd_t *bd); This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined. To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h> #include <asm/u-boot.h> void foo(bd_t *bd); Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly. If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward declaration as follows: struct bd_info; void foo(struct bd_info *bd); Right, typedef'ing bd_t is a mistake. I used coccinelle to generate this commit. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: <smpl> @@ typedef bd_t; @@ -bd_t +struct bd_info </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>

2019-10-08imx: Kconfig: Reduce default CONFIG_CSF_SIZEBreno Matheus Lima
The default CSF_SIZE defined in Kconfig is too high and SPL cannot fit into the OCRAM in certain cases. The CSF cannot achieve 0x2000 length when using RSA 4K key which is the largest key size supported by HABv4. According to AN12056 "Encrypted Boot on HABv4 and CAAM Enabled Devices" it's recommended to pad CSF binary to 0x2000 and append DEK blob to deploy encrypted boot images. As the maximum DEK blob size is 0x58 we can reduce CSF_SIZE to 0x2060 which should cover both CSF and DEK blob length. 2019-08-26spl: support booting via RISC-V OpenSBILukas Auer
RISC-V OpenSBI is an open-source implementation of the RISC-V Supervisor Binary Interface (SBI) specification. It is required by Linux and U-Boot running in supervisor mode. This patch adds support for booting via the OpenSBI FW_DYNAMIC firmware. It supports OpenSBI version 0.4 and higher. In this configuration, U-Boot SPL starts in machine mode. After loading OpenSBI and U-Boot proper, it will start OpenSBI. All necessary parameters are generated by U-Boot SPL and are passed to OpenSBI. U-Boot proper is started in supervisor mode by OpenSBI. Support for OpenSBI is enabled with CONFIG_SPL_OPENSBI. An additional configuration entry, CONFIG_SPL_OPENSBI_LOAD_ADDR, is used to specify the load address of the OpenSBI firmware binary. It is not used directly in U-Boot and instead is intended to make the value available to scripts such as FIT configuration generators. The header file include/opensbi.h is based on header files from the OpenSBI project. They are recent, as of commit bae54f764570 ("firmware: Add fw_dynamic firmware"). 2019-04-22Support boot Android image without address on bootm commandShawn Guo
It works perfectly fine to boot an Android boot.img with bootm command followed by an explicit address argument that holds the image. But if we have boot.img downloaded into default 'loadaddr', and then boot it using bootm command without the address argument, we will run into problem, because U-Boot fails to find ramdisk and fdt (second area) in boot.img. The current Android image support assumes there is always an address argument on bootm command. However just like booting any other images, 'loadaddr' should be used when address argument is missing from bootm command. It patches boot_get_ramdisk() and boot_get_fdt() a bit to support this quite common usage of bootm command for Android image. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2018-03-19image: Add IH_OS_TEE for TEE chain-load bootBryan O'Donoghue
This patch adds a new type IH_OS_TEE. This new OS type will be used for chain-loading to Linux via a TEE. With this patch in-place you can generate a bootable OPTEE image like this: mkimage -A arm -T kernel -O tee -C none -d tee.bin uTee.optee where "tee.bin" is the input binary prefixed with an OPTEE header and uTee.optee is the output prefixed with a u-boot wrapper header. This image type "-T kernel -O tee" is differentiated from the existing IH_TYPE_TEE "-T tee" in that the IH_TYPE is installed by u-boot (flow control returns to u-boot) whereas for the new IH_OS_TEE control passes to the OPTEE firmware and the firmware chainloads onto Linux. 2018-03-19tools/mkimage: add support for STM32 image formatPatrick Delaunay
STM32MP157 bootrom needs a specific header for first boot stage. This patch adds support of this header in mkimage. Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
2018-03-05libfdt: move headers to <linux/libfdt.h> and <linux/libfdt_env.h>Masahiro Yamada
Thomas reported U-Boot failed to build host tools if libfdt-devel package is installed because tools include libfdt headers from /usr/include/ instead of using internal ones. This commit moves the header code: include/libfdt.h -> include/linux/libfdt.h include/libfdt_env.h -> include/linux/libfdt_env.h and replaces include directives: #include <libfdt.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt.h> #include <libfdt_env.h> -> #include <linux/libfdt_env.h> Reported-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2017-12-18common: image.c: Fix CACHE: Misaligned operation outputHeiko Schocher
When booting a itb file with a Ramdisk on a imx6 based board, U-Boot drops the warning: Loading Kernel Image ... OK Loading Ramdisk to 4ecf1000, end 4ef8b11f ... \ CACHE: Misaligned operation at range [4ecf1000, 4ef8b11f] Fix it! Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Tested-by: Ayoub Zaki <hs@denx.de>
2017-12-14fpga: allow programming fpga from FIT image for all FPGA driversGoldschmidt Simon
This drops the limit that fpga is only loaded from FIT images for Xilinx. This is done by moving the 'partial' check from 'common/image.c' to 'drivers/fpga/xilinx.c' (the only driver supporting partial images yet) and supplies a weak default implementation in 'drivers/fpga/fpga.c'.
