2024-01-22mtd: Make CONFIG_MTD be the gate symbol for the menuTom Rini
The help for CONFIG_MTD explains that it needs to be enabled for various things like NAND, etc to be available. It however then doesn't enforce this dependency and so if you have none of these systems present you still need to disable a number of options. Fix this by making places that select/imply one type of flash, but did not do the same, also do this for "MTD". Make boards which hadn't been enabling MTD already but need it now, do so. In a few places, disable CONFIG_CMD_MTDPARTS as it wasn't previously enabled but was now being implied. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2023-10-22sunxi: remove CONFIG_MACPWRAndre Przywara
The CONFIG_MACPWR Kconfig symbol is used to point to a GPIO that enables the power for the Ethernet "MAC" (mostly PHY, really). In the DT this is described with the phy-supply property in the MAC DT node, pointing to a (GPIO controlled) regulator. Since we need Ethernet only in U-Boot proper, and use a DM driver there, we should use the DT instead of hardcoding this. Add code to the sun8i_emac and sunxi_emac drivers to check the DT for that regulator and enable it, at probe time. Then drop the current code from board.c, which was doing that job before. This allows us to remove the MACPWR Kconfig definition and the respective values from the defconfigs. 2022-12-13sunxi: define SYS_MONITOR_LEN in Kconfig, not _defconfigAndre Przywara
Commit 08574ed339fb ("Convert CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN to Kconfig") moved the definition of said config variable from the common sunxi header to *every board's* defconfig. This is a platform choice, not board specific, so remove the variable from there, instead set the one value for all Allwinner boards in Kconfig. 2022-11-10Convert CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN To do this, we set a default of 0 for everyone because there are a number of cases where we define CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN but the only impact is that we set TOTAL_MALLOC_LEN to be CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_LEN + CONFIG_ENV_SIZE, so we must continue to allow all boards to set this value. Update the SPL code to use 200 KB as the default raw U-Boot size directly, if we don't have a real CONFIG_SYS_MONITOR_LEN value. 2022-10-18sunxi: defconfig: drop redundant definitionsAndre Przywara
When some configuration symbols were converted from header files to Kconfig, their values were placed into *every* defconfig file. Since we now have sensible per-SoC defaults defined in Kconfig, those values are now redundant, and can just be removed. This affects CONFIG_SPL_STACK, CONFIG_SYS_PBSIZE, CONFIG_SPL_MAX_SIZE, and CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN. Signed-off-by: Andre Przywara <andre.przywara@arm.com>

2022-03-10sunxi: boards: Enable SPI flash support in U-Boot properAndre Przywara
Some sunxi boards ship with SPI flash, which allows booting through the BootROM. We cover this functionality by a separate SPL "mini" driver. Separately we have a proper DM_SPI driver for U-Boot proper, which provides access to the SPI flash through the "sf" command. That allows to update the firmware on the SPI flash, also to store the environment there. However only very few boards actually enable support for U-Boot proper, even though that would work and the SPL part is configured. Use the cleaned up configuration scheme to enable SPI flash on those boards which mention a SPI flash in their .dts, or which use the SPL SPI support. Out of the box this would enable storing the environment on the SPI flash, and allows people to read or write the flash from U-Boot, for instance to update the SPI flash when booted via an SD card. For this to actually work there must be a "spi0" alias in the DT, which most boards are missing. But this should be addressed separately. First, we convert CONFIG_SYS_I2C_LEGACY to Kconfig. Next, as you cannot have SYS_I2C_LEGACY and DM_I2C at the same time, introduce CONFIG_SPL_SYS_I2C_LEGACY so that we can enable the legacy option only in SPL. 2020-03-18sunxi: Remove no longer needed default options from defconfigsAndre Przywara
Now that those common Allwinner config symbols are defined automatically for all boards in their Kconfig files, we can remove the now redundant definitions from the boards' _defconfig files. Some boards had a differing definiton for some of those symbols, it looks like mostly to "merge races" when the symbol was introduced (new board *_defconfig file missed the "add symbol to all files" patch). 2020-01-24sunxi: move CONFIG_SYS_SPI_U_BOOT_OFFS out of defconfigAndre Przywara
For Allwinner SoCs the CONFIG_SYS_SPI_U_BOOT_OFFS value is not really a board choice: The boot ROM only loads the SPL from offset 0 of the SPI NOR flash, and loads at most 32KB. This is a similar situation as on MMC, so consequently we create our "joint" image (SPL + U-Boot proper) with that 32KB offset during the build. So define the value of this symbol to be 32KB by default for every Allwinner SoC. This removes the definition of this symbol from the _defconfig files, and avoids every board to define this over and over again. 2019-07-15sunxi: move CONFIG_SPL_TEXT_BASE from *_defconfig to KconfigAndre Przywara
The choice of the SPL_TEXT_BASE is not really a decision that should be specified by each board's defconfig, as this setting is actually dictated by the SoC's memory map and the BootROM behaviour. To make this obvious and reduce the clutter in the defconfig files, let's specify the SoC constraints in the Kconfig stanza. This allows us to remove these lines from the defconfig files again. 2018-04-16part: Disable CONFIG_SPL_ISO_PARTITION by defaultAlexander Graf
We enabled CONFIG_ISO_PARTITION by default for distro boot, so that U-Boot could load distro images that usually get shipped as iso images. These images usually come with a board agnostic boot environment. However, there is very little point in having ISO support enabled (for anyone really) in SPL, as the whole idea of SPL is to load U-Boot proper which again is board specific. So the fact that we enable ISO support in U-Boot proper does not mean at all that we want ISO support in U-Boot SPL. Hence, let's remove the Kconfig dependency. Along the way, let's also clean up all those default configs that disabled SPL ISO support. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>

2018-03-14sunxi: move CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE out of defconfigsAndre Przywara
Commit 278b90ce786f ("configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE") made CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE a proper Kconfig variable, with the consequence of moving the common definition shared by almost every sunxi board into 123 individual defconfig files. But the U-Boot start address for Allwinner boards is a platform decision which has been around for ages, so defining it in each *board* config file seems a bit over the top. Define the standard values (160MB into DRAM for most SoCs, with two SoC exceptions) if ARCH_SUNXI is selected, and delete the lines from the individual defconfigs. 2017-10-25SPL: SPI: select SPL_SPI_FLASH_SUPPORT on SPL_SPI_SUNXIAndre Przywara
The Allwinner SPI flash SPL boot support is guarded by the SPL_SPI_SUNXI symbol. But despite its generic name, the actual only use case for this is to provide SPI flash support to the SPL, which requires CONFIG_SPL_SPI_FLASH_SUPPORT to be defined. Select this symbol from the SPL_SPI_SUNXI Kconfig definition. This avoids doing this explicitly in the defconfig, and fixes SPI booting on the Pine64 SoPine (and -LTS version) and the OrangePi Win board (both with SPI flash). This syncs all of the currently Kconfig'd symbols out of the headers and into the defconfig files. This has two exceptions, first am335x_evm needs to be converted to DM in SPL and then it can stop undef'ing CONFIG_DM_USB. Leaving this as-is results in a build failure, and without work, run time failure. The other case is am43xx_evm.h and in turn am43xx_evm_usbhost_boot. The problem here is that we need DWC3 USB host mode in SPL, but still desire to have gadget mode in U-Boot proper. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
