- Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR - Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation. - On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them. - On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation. - CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most board config header files. 2022-03-04configs: ti: use standard configuration nodes namingRomain Naour
Currently, any u-boot bootloader for ti armv7 platforms using DEFAULT_FIT_TI_ARGS to boot with a fitimage (boot_fit = 1) doesn't boot when built with Yocto Poky (openembedded-core). ## Loading kernel from FIT Image at 90000000 ... Could not find configuration node ERROR: can't get kernel image! Arago forked the kernel-fitimage class [1] and altered the configuration nodes naming while adding the OPTEE support by using FITIMAGE_CONF_BY_NAME by default [2]. The "upstream" kernel-fitimage class from openembedded-core still add the "conf-" prefix for each configuration nodes [3]. The ITS file format (from doc/uImage.FIT/source_file_format.txt) is not really accurate with the expected naming of these nodes. But in practice the "conf-" prefix is widely used. When the FIT image support has been added for ti armv7 platforms the naming from Arago has been used [3]. Fix this issue by adding the prefix expected by the ITS file generated by kernel-fitimage class from openembedded-core. 2022-01-21spl: Convert SYS_MMCSD_RAW_MODE_KERNEL_SECTOR to KconfigAlexandru Gagniuc
Falcon mode is very useful in improving boot speed. A question that Falcon mode asks is "Where do I look for the kernel". With MMC boot media, the correct answer is CONFIG_SYS_MMCSD_RAW_MODE_KERNEL_SECTOR. The scope of this patch is to move this to Kconfig. It is possible for a system to support Falcon mode from NOR but not MMC. In that case, mmc_load_image_raw_os() would not be used. To address this, conditionally compile mmc_load_image_raw_os() when SPL_FALCON_BOOT_MMCSD, instead of SPL_OS_BOOT. 2022-01-16board: ti: am335x: Choose CPSW or PRUSS configuration based on jumper settingAmjad Ouled-Ameur
The am335x-ice-v2 board's Ethernet ports can be configured in 'MII' or 'RMII' mode to be connected to 'PRUSS' or 'CPSW' Ethernet subsystems. This patch sets the environment variable 'ice_mii' to 'mii' or 'rmii' accordingly. Based on that we choose the appropriate board devicetree i.e. 'am335x-ice-v2.dtb' or 'am335x-ice-v2-prueth.dtb'. Since there are 2 Ethernet ports with 2 modes, there can be 4 configurations but for now we consider both ports in different modes to be an invalid configuration and prevent boot in that case. 2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. 2020-01-20configs: ti: Factor out call to 'args_mmc' into MMC common environmentAndrew F. Davis
Both 'loadfit' and 'mmcloados' start with a call to 'args_mmc' so this can be factored out to before eithers only call site. This also allows us to remove that call from 'loadfit', which should not have been calling it anyway as that command should not be MMC specific. Without the call to 'args_mmc' the command 'loadfit' becomes just a call to 'run_fit' so remove the indirection and call 'run_fit' directly, this removes the need for 'loadfit' command (which was misnamed anyway). 2019-08-20configs: Rename environment variable fit_loadaddr to addr_fitAndrew F. Davis
This is the first part of a larger effort I would like to propose to unify and simplify the default set of environment variables. When many early environment variables were named there were fewer images being loaded, usually just a kernel. At this time names like 'loadaddr' would suffice. Now we have more images and many more commands that act on them, often re-using the same variable for several different uses. The contents of a variable are also not immediately known causing one to have to look up a chain of variables to understand what a command is actually doing. I suggest the following. To start, all variables containing names should be prefixed with name_ and addresses with addr_. This is like how K2 already does things and allows for simple universal commands like: get_fdt_nfs=nfs ${addr_fdt} /boot/${name_fdt} Which is very clear on what is intended here and would work across all board that using the this naming convention. We can do this one variable at a time, start here with addr_fit. Signed-off-by: Andrew F. Davis <afd@ti.com> Acked-by: Andreas Dannenberg <dannenberg@ti.com>

The FIT image is loaded to 0x8700_0000 followed by extracting from that several large images also into the 0x8x00_0000 range. Large images can end up overwriting the FIT image as it is being extracted from. Move the FIT load address clear out to 0x9000_0000, this will require a board to have at least 256MB of DRAM, if less then more careful planning will be required for that platform. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
