2019-11-29MIPS: remove Micronas VCT boardsDaniel Schwierzeck
The deadline for migration to CONFIG_DM is v2020.01. The VCT baords would need an almost complete rewrite of all drivers to support driver model. Unless someone has access to the hardware and volunteers to do the migration, the board should be scheduled for removal. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2019-11-20env: Remove useless CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_REDUND and fix ENV_IS_REDUND checkTom Rini
We have CONFIG_ENV_SIZE_IS_REDUND but don't really use it. We have one board where we can simply multiple CONFIG_ENV_SIZE by two for the same result. The other place where we could but were not previously using this is for where env_internal.h checks for if we should set ENV_IS_EMBEDDED. This seems like the most likely use, historically, of the variable, but it was not used. Add logic to check for this now. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2018-03-16Convert all of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. 2017-07-22powerpc: Remove unneccessary #ifdefs in reginfoChristophe Leroy
reginfo command is calling mpc8xx_reginfo(), mpc85xx_reginfo() or mpc86xx_reginfo() based on CONFIG_ symbol. As those 3 functions can't me defined at the same time, let's rename them print_reginfo() to avoid the #ifdefs The name is kept generic as it is not at all dependent on powerpc arch and any other arch could want to also print such information. In addition, as the Makefile compiles cmd/reginfo.c only when CONFIG_CMD_REGINFO is set, there is no need to enclose the U_BOOT_CMD definition inside a #ifdef CONFIG_CMD_REGINFO Lets all remove the #ifdefs around the U_BOOT_CMD as this file is only compiled when CONFIG_CMD_REGINFO is defined Finally, this is a PowerPC-only command, disable it on a number of non-PowerPC platforms. Move details of the L1 cache line sizes & total sizes into Kconfig, defaulting to 0. A new CONFIG_SYS_CACHE_SIZE_AUTO Kconfig entry is introduced to allow platforms to select auto-detection of cache sizes, and it defaults to being enabled if none of the cache sizes are set by the configuration (ie. sizes are all the default 0), and code is adjusted to #ifdef on that rather than on the definition of the sizes (which will always be defined even if 0). 2015-08-13kconfig: add config option for shell promptNikita Kiryanov
Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate boards globally. The migration is done as follows: - Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the entry moved to their defconfig files. - Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone. - This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common, ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common. - Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever the default is. - On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some <boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common, bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files. - The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT. Since CONFIG_CMD_CRC32 is defined in config_cmd_defaults.h, it is enabled for all the boards except the ones undefining it explicitly: kwb tseries_mmc tseries_nand tseries_spi vct_platinum_onenand_small vct_platinum_small vct_platinumavc_onenand_small vct_platinumavc_small vct_premium_onenand_small vct_premium_small The default value of this config option should be "y" and "# CONFIG_CMD_CRC32 is not set" should be added for those exceptions.
